In this blender (2.8) tutorial we go over how to use render regions, which can speed up cycles and reduce rendering time for certain parts of your view.

Step 1:
Hit ctrl+b and select some render region

Step 2:
Enable border in the render output tab (if you only want to render the region)

Step 3 (Optional):
Enable crop in the render output tab (to crop into this regions during render)
