Blender GIS is a plugin that allows you to use Blender as an interface for working with geographical data. It provides the ability to import data from shape files, ESRI file geodatabases, and WMS servers. You can also export your scene as KML or SVG vector graphics which makes it easy to integrate into Google Earth or any other program capable of importing these formats. The plugin works on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and BSD with Python 3.5+ installed.
Blender GIS has many features including but not limited to: importing all major types of spatial data sources (shapefiles), exporting in multiple formats (KML/SVG), visualizing data layers in 2D or 3D views
In this video, I show you how to import a height map and buildings using Blender GIS. This program is absolutely brilliant for creating maps in 3D!
