Brian Horgan Releases New Aimtools For Maya

aimTools streamlines the process of using aim targets to control rotation animation.

Animator Brian Horgan has just released a new tool for Maya that streamlines the process of using aim targets and applies animations back onto rig controls. The animating itself is based off Richard Lico’s award winning workflow demonstrations, so it should make your life easier!

“[aimTools]gives powerful and intuitive ways to visualize and interact with rotation-based animation in 3D space,” says Horgan, “It can simplify the process of setting up aim controllers for alternate ways of interacting with character rigs that may be more appropriate than what you had originally planned. Check out these videos: one shows how we used it as an alternative way create overlapping animations on our rigs quickly; another goes over some basics about working within this program.”
