One of the overlooked features in After Effects, is that you can copy and paste keyframes between different paths for animating a shape. This makes it really easy to create morphs quickly without having all those pesky path handles getting in your way!
a very simple way to morph shapes by copying and pasting the keyframe data of several mask paths.
Animator Lee Daniels shows how you can copy and paste keyframes between different shapes, paths or masks in After Effects to create a morphing paths animation that will transition from one shape to the other. Doing so doesn’t offer much control over how multiple complex-looking animations will behave when they’re put together like this; I could see adding some “intermediate” graphics would help with more complicated transitions better!
