Using The Offset Parent Matrix In Maya To Lighten Rigs

In Maya 2020, Autodesk added a suite of new rigging attributes and nodes. One feature is the Offset Parent Matrix which functions as an offset parent for matrix-driven transforms or operations in any 3D application!

Offset Parent Matrix lets you apply a transformation matrix to nodes before they are translated, Rotated or Scaled. This is an exciting new tool for rigging artists as it removes the need of using offset groups which bloat our rigs!
